Kimi

Please welcome my latest creation, hand-sewn from my original design in a smoke-free environment

Kimi is  a West Highland Terrier pup.   She has been named after the talented Kim Niles of KiniArt   http://www.kiniart.com  .  Kim is an illustrator and artist of note, and I love her whimsical pet art.  Go take a look!

Soft, white Alpaca with long pile was chosen for this project.
Premium glass eyes with needlesculpted eyelids
Her nose was fashioned from Apoxy-Sculpt;  sanded down, and then painted.

I embroidered her pudgy little paw pads with DMC threads before handshading them.

Kimi sits beautifully but is rather unsteady standing.  Her limbs are string-jointed allowing her to adopt many positions.  She has a wobble joint in her head, which makes her head tilt to any side - giving her that cute curious look.  Her body has been stuffed firmly with polyfibre and metal shot for weight.

Her face has been needle-felted and thread sculpted. Scissor sculpting was a challenge and I used lots of downloaded pictures off the net to help me groom her fur.  Once I was happy with the shaping I hand shaded her

Her pointy ears which are typical to the breed have pink suede on the inner side

who's the cutest?

She is 10cms tall when seated and can easily fit in....... a hand

                                                  ...............or a teacup

She is playful and loves nothing more than to play games with you. Her tail is wired internally allowing for poseability.......but generally it's up and perky!

Continue to ignore her, then she will paw you and give you that  quizzical look
....'Is that computer with 'virtual' Westies more fun than me?"

Her favourite game is her tennis ball........apart from chasing lizards, and rats, and of course she loves to dig up the garden.  She is a terrier after all!

fast asleep and all stretched out

Kimi sleeps on her warm crocheted blanket.

one tired little terrier

Kimi's collar has been handmade in a dusky pink Ultrasuede with a blanket stitch detail.  She seems to prefer chewing it, then wearing it.

She was made with lots of love and makes me smile each time I look at her.  Lots more pictures of her.....can't stop photographing her.

 More images of this sweetheart

why wont they play with me?
oh well, i'll just take a nap

Please note that this creation is a collector's item and only intended for display purposes. It is not for children or pets.

Alfie

Alfie is nothing but a hound dog!  His coat is a mix  Sassy longpile velvet  and rough suede in honey and rufus tones.

He is 3 inches tall standing on his hind paws but a mere 4cms high when standing on all fours.  His tiny size enables him to fit easily in the palm of a hand, or be popped into one's pocket.  He likes to accompany his owner everywhere and is well behaved.

His muzzle is square from extensive needle and scissor sculpting with a hand shaded and embroidered lower lip.

Suede and velvet eye-sockets were created to house his German glass black eyes.  His nose is black resin.

HIs hind paw pads have been realistically needle-sculpted ,then  embroidered with DMC cotton thread.

Alfie has a wobble-jointed head allowing him to adopt multiple head positions. His limbs are string jointed. His forelimbs have wire armature to assist in movement and posing.

Nobody knows who his father was.... but we suspect it was a terrier of sorts, judging by the shape of his adorable ears.

He wears a furry collar embroided with antique metallic thread and sporting two tinkly brass bells.

Alfie is stuffed very firmly with polyfibre filling...and a whole lot of love too!
Due to the small parts he contains he is not intended for children or pets.

Riley

Meet Riley..... the newest addition to the 'Eddybare' family.  I am not sure what breed he could possibly be, certainly not one recognised by any Kennel club.  So a street dog he is ... a fine, hairy one!

Riley shows his tiny size

Riley stands 7cms high.  He is made from  black Mohair and white Imported Schulte synthetic.  His inner ears are grey Ultrasuede.
His tiny paw pads are fashioned from black leather.

inner ears of grey Ultrasuede

Warm, soulful, dark- brown eyes light up his mischievous face and his wet, black resin nose gives him a healthy appearance.

Internal wire armature gives Riley a good stance. He has unjointed limbs and a wobble head allowing it to rotate, swivel and be posed in most directions.  His ears are long and floppy; and unwired, but can still be moved slightly to allow for posing.

Riley has a long, scraggly, waggly tail.  One need only to glance at his tail to see what mood he's in.  There is a light wire armature within so he can be posed with his tail up or down. A tiny Eddybare label is sewn in under his tail, so as not to be too noticeable, but at the same time proving he is an original!

Riley wears his brown leather collar with a little brass bell attached .

You may think Riley doesn't seem to have a mouth, but he does!  It's hand embroidered and hidden under his scruffy fur.

Riley is the only the  second type of dog made by Eddybare.  My Jack Russells can be seen in this past blog entry  http://eddybare.blogspot.com/search/label/jack%20russell%20terrier.

Hope you like him. Any comments or orders are welcome as usual.
